What Not to Forget After Shaving

Both men and women shave. They shave unwanted hair on their faces, armpits, legs, and even their pubic areas. Shaving can be done through simple razors or, more recently, through men's electric shavers. You presumably have mastered the art of shaving, but have you mastered the art of post-shaving?

Shaving is the removal of hair from different parts of the body through conventional razors or blades, or through electricity-powered tools such as men's electric shavers. It is important to know how to prepare for shaving, how to actually shave, and what to do after shaving. Read on for some tips on what you ought to remember to do after you shave.

When you have finished shaving your face, you need to check for smoothness. Rinse your face with warm water and use your fingers to check if there are rough areas or spots you missed to shave. To achieve a smooth and clean shave, you need to lather your face again with shaving cream and shave against the direction of hair growth.

Then, after shaving again, rinse your face with water and use a clean towel to pat your face dry. You need to apply a shaving balm which does not contain alcohol. Furthermore, when you shave, you must not forget to apply aftershave. Aftershave products have been in the market for quite a long time now. The very first aftershave made was witch hazel. After shaving, men apply witch hazel directly on their face. Witch hazel is still used as a base in making aftershaves because of its antiseptic properties. Aftershaves prevent your cuts and burns from getting infected.

Nowadays, aftershaves are in the form of lotions or gels. Aftershaves are commonly used by men to avoid having infections when skin is cut during shaving. Aftershaves contain antiseptic ingredients which is usually alcohol which disinfects and sanitizes the skin.

Apart from this, you also should not forget to wash your face or the area you have shaved. You can use a moisturizing lotion to moisturize your freshly shaven face. Aftershaves contain moisturizer, so you don't need to use moisturizing lotions when you have already used aftershaves.

Moreover, you need to take care of your razors after using them, especially men's electric shavers, which require some amount of care and maintenance. You need to clean your razors after using them. A clean razor decreases the chance of bacteria getting to your equipment and in turn infecting your skin when you cut yourself. You also need to change the blades of your razors once in a while. Dull blades will never get you a smooth and clean face.

Try Kalo Hair Remover for Unwanted Hair Or Frequent Shaving

Most people scoff at those who allow hair to grow long, especially in places that are considered more private. This is why Kalo Hair Remover is so appealing, and why I decided to check into the reasons people have been using it. This is some of the information I found about this product.

The product helps take care of unwanted hair, even in more private areas. It works best when done after a wax, sugaring or tweezing because these procedures remove the unwanted hair from the hair shaft and bulb without breaking the hair.

The follicle is left open, and when the Remover is used, it begins the process of permanently removing without damaging the skin or causing any irritation. This needs to be done three times in one day and three times the following day. Having excessive hair isn't always the issue, sometimes it's the frequency of keeping up with your unwanted hair.

People with darker hair often have to shave or remove it more regularly. They may have to pluck eyebrows or shave their legs on a daily basis, because it's so noticeable. When Kalo Hair Remover is used after each session, the hair coming back will become weaker and eventually not return. This means if you were doing it every day before, it may be only once a week now.

It appears Kalo Hair Remover does what it says as a product to remove hair safely and without irritation, as well as eliminating the constant shaving. Some people may not agree that it removes permanently, but it's possible they didn't use the correct hair removal procedure. If you have my legs and are shaving every day, I'd say the Kalo Hair Remover is definitely worth the try.

Ladies Electric Razors - Speed Up Shaving

Electric razors for women have become very popular over recent years. In fact, the technology has grown so that the use of a disposable razor really doesn't make sense anymore. You can purchase a woman's electric razor that can be used wet or dry, so the need for manual razors has gone out the window.

Women have long detested having to shave on a daily basis. Because women have so many other grooming necessities, such as styling their hair, shaving is just another thing on their to do list each morning. The invention of electric shavers has cut down on the time and aggravation of having to shave. There are many different models a woman can choose from depending on her needs and wants in an electric shaver. For instance, some shavers have pivot action which allows for a closer and smoother shave. The blades available on some women's razors are now much sharper which allows for extra close shaving.

Some shavers are fully immersible so that they can be cleaned easily and used in the shower or bathtub. Many versions are also hypoallergenic for people with sensitive skin. There are some women's shavers that are similar to the men's shaver with three spinning shaving heads. Others are made using a safety screen to keep the woman from being cut by the razor. There are electric razors for women which also have an epilator built in which removes the hair from the root. This technology has also improved in recent years so that the pain one used to feel from that process is no longer a problem. In fact, these kinds of razors often allow a woman the ability to go without shaving again for a couple of weeks.

If a woman is thinking about buying an electric razor for women then she needs to do her research online and look at the different models available. This way she can decide whether she wants a dry, wet or combination shaver with or without the epilator. There are many different price ranges and companies that make these kinds of shavers so it pays to do a little research and read customer reviews to see what other buyers thought.

On Electronic Shavers and Shaving Accessories Sites

In terms of shaving, there are various ways to remove hair from different areas of the body. In the past, most men practiced the art of shaving through the use of sharp stones and through the use of water. As the centuries progress, men were able to adapt to new types and forms of shaving such as the use of knives and razors. After such an age, the electric shavers were born as well as the use of some creams and pastes to instantly remove the hair. Today, shavers are not only used by men but women who also have a problem with hair. Men can now rely on shaving creams with all sorts of scents, after shavers that would create a perfect tone on the face as well as different kinds of shavers. There are shavers which are designed to have a twin and even triple razors so that no hair would be left on the face. Most of them are usually seen in electric shavers ratings and various product sites on the net.

There are also shavers which has the pad so that the face would not be scratched or lacerated. From flexible ones to longer lasting ones, you can select the type of shaver that would fit your character and style. There are also shavers for women which are not only delicate in cutting hair but they also have the colorful body that distinguishes them from male shavers. However, the mechanical shavers are nothing compared to electric shavers. Electric shavers are effective in any types of facial and body hair. Some electric shavers are portable and battery operated. You can practically bring them anywhere and in any type of occasion. There are electric shavers that disperse certain chemicals as well as water so that the face would not become itchy after shaving. There are also electric shavers that have a sturdy wire. Such types of electric razors can withstand a very far length without affecting the wires. For those who are looking for the different features in shavers, there are various electric shavers ratings websites that not only offer the features when it comes to shavers but also the prices and ratings.

The ratings given in most sites were provided by men who have already tried and tested such products. They have rated the shavers according to their taste and their experience with various shavers. Since electronic shavers are somewhat expensive, it is better to get an opinion from other men first before engaging in buying one. Most sites that have shaver ratings also have ratings from various products and accessories that men can buy together with the shaver, for instance, the types of cologne which can be used for aftershaves or the creams which are great for the face. There are also sites that offer advices in acquiring the best types of shavers, where to find them and the best brands in the shaving industry. If you are planning to acquire an electronic shaver then an electric shavers ratings site would be the best place to start.

Get Rid of That Razor! Upgrade Your Shaving Experience With a Cordless Shaver

Like bathing, hair removal is a necessity. It doesn't have to be a chore! And, it doesn't have to cost an arm and a leg also. If the average person spends $5 for a package of disposable razors a week for a year, that's $260 spent on an unpleasant and potentially painful experience. You wouldn't continue to pay money for bad products, so why would you continue to buy cheap razors that dull quickly and never get completely cleaned? There are two types of electric shavers: foil and rotary.

Generally, foil shavers offer a closer shave and rotary cutters are better for longer hair and difficult areas. According to Consumer Research, experts recommend that when choosing an electric shaver you should:

1. Overlook inexpensive generic models and buy a quality brand. If price is an issue, buy the best quality brand with the fewest bells and whistles.

2. Provide yourself with an adequate trial period. Most people need at least 30 days to adjust to an electric shaver. Most brand names will also provide you with a 30-day manufacturer's guarantee.

3. Look for a quick charge option and a long charge life. If your shaver quits before you are done, you are not going to want to wait an hour to finish shaving.

4. Determine if it is uncomfortable or too loud for your personal taste. And, if you are going to spend the money, you should be happy with the product. So save the toilet paper for its intended use, not for the bloody cuts from your disposable razor! Consider adding a cordless electric shaver to your morning routine and you will look forward to shaving once again.

Shaving is now easier than ever for men who shaved to satisfy their wrongly nurtured & cultured notions of masculinity. Your beard is no more a part of frustrating and a must-wash-face daily routine.

Shaving with the help of electric shavers has lots of advantages. You do not need water, and shaving foam. All you really need is any form of electricity, either batteries or mains power. Cutting yourself during shaving is next to impossible as they have special safety covers to avoid this happening.

Any electrical product, even those from great manufacturers, can develop a problem. You have the peace of mind of knowing exactly how to contact Braun as well as the fact that they stand behind their warranties. Braun shaver replacement parts are also easy to find so you don't necessarily have to go to the expense of buying a new one.

Choosing the best shaver can be difficult but not when you know where to look and find the best reviews not to mention prices.

Shaving Tips That Work!

If you are one of the thousands of men out there that do not really know how to shave the right way, the following tips and advice might help you to get a closer, smoother, and less bloody shave without the unwanted side effects like razor bumps, ingrown hair, or razor burns.

Pre-Shaving Tips & Techniques

In order to prevent skin irritations that often come with shaving like razor bumps and burns or ingrown hairs, you should soften the hair before shaving for about two to three minutes before you actually start shaving. One of the best ways is to wet the hair with a hot towel for about 15 seconds before shaving. Another possibility is to shave after you took a shower. Always use a good razor blade that is sharp and wet.

In addition to that, we recommend using a good shaving cream or gel.
Shaving gels are important, not only in treating or preventing razor bumps, ingrown hairs and razor burns, but also because a good shaving gel will help to minimize the friction associated with shaving and moisturize your skin. While your skin is still wet, apply a shaving gel and wait a minute or two - then you can start shaving.

Shaving Direction & Skin Position

If your skin is likely to develop razor bumps, burns or ingrown hairs, you should try shaving with the grain, not against it. Shaving against the grain may get you a closer shave, but this can also cause razor bumps and other skin irritations. If you shave in the same direction your hair grows, your skin is less likely to become irritated. The objective is to angle the razor at 90 degrees. This shaving technique cuts the hair in an effortless fashion nipping the hairs at the grain and not against it. Shaving in the same direction, will also result in less pull on the hairs and less tendency to cut them too short. Hairs cut too short are at risk of curling into the skin causing razor bumps and ingrown hairs.

Avoid going over and over the same area as this may result in hairs cut too short and painful skin irritations. It is best to shave with just enough overlap to avoid skipping areas. Also long strokes should be avoided. Instead, use short strokes to avoid razor bumps and friction resulting in other skin inflammations. Shave with the skin in a neutral and relaxed position - don't stretch your skin too tight, as this may result in hairs being shaved below the resting surface of the skin, increasing the risk of ingrown hairs.

After-Shaving Tips

After shaving, apply an oil-free moisturizer that soothes and protects your face. If you prefer after-shave products, make sure you check the label for alcohol: dryness and stinging sensations are often side affects of most after-shave items with alcohol being their primary ingredient. Alcohol-based after-shaves are often another cause for irritating the skin if the alcohol level is too high.

Mentholated shaving products should be avoided as well. Although the cooling sensation feels good on the face once applied, menthol, just like alcohol, can be very irritating to the skin.

Head Shaving - How to Be Bald and Fabulous

Jim's hair-sprayed locks clumped together like withered road-kill. The hot towel I had wrapped snugly around his face during his facial had disrupted the ground cover cocooning his barren scalp. After weeks of working on balancing his skin tone and rehabilitating his whiskers after years of shaving abuse, it was time to help Jim face the neurosis that made him rationalize a "comb-over" as being a fair substitute for a full head of hair.

Our obsession with hair drives a gazillion dollar industry to provide heads of all ages ways to get colored, curled, cut, transplanted, implanted, singed, scrubbed, fluffed, shaved and sprayed; mostly using invasive procedures, hazardous detergents, synthetic chemicals and preservatives. On top of all that, consumers are suckered into buying chemically inappropriate hair care products based on marketing hype and sticker price. It's no wonder hair replacement clinics and subsequent products are popping up like zits.

While it's not too late to improve the odds of keeping healthy abundant hair on the heads of our teenage sons and daughters simply by choosing biologically appropriate hair care products and healthy nutrition, baldies like Jim have little recourse once the follicles begin to fall.

Opting for the chance to start over, Jim was ready to try life as a bona fide baldy. Therefore, the first rule for him to embrace when it comes to matters of the head was "If it won't grow right, get it gone from sight." Basically, if your hair-do looks anything like Friar Tuck or a hemorrhoid ring, get to your barber and ask for a No.1 or zero guard, all over.
To kick it up a notch, wet shave the head now and again (more if the Missus loves it). Men with male pattern baldness tend to have gorgeous, well proportioned heads that deserve to be shown off. When shaved smooth and properly hydrated, these kissable noggins are guaranteed the Lion's share of attention.

Shaving your own head can be tricky if you lack the flexibility and co-ordination to reach the back of the head with your razor. If contortionism isn't part of your DNA, invest in an ergonomic razor handle such as the Head Blade.

Once you have settled on the razor style that best suits your grip, how you prep the area and use the razor will determine your shaving success. Here are some simple guidelines:

After a shower, vigorously massage a quality pre-shave gel over the entire scalp.
Apply a dab of Glycerin based shave lather and prime your badger hair shave brush directly against the scalp until a rich, luxurious lather is achieved.
Heat your razor in hot water before commencing the shave. Using short strokes (about 1 to 2 inch strokes) shave with the natural lie of the hair. Usually this will be crown to front, crown to ears and crown to the back of the neck. Be sure to rinse the blade of debris as often as possible.
Apply another layer of fresh warm lather and shave against the lie of the hair. If your scalp is sensitive to begin with, shave diagonally or across the hair until it acclimates to its new condition.
Rinse off with warm water and then splash with cool water. Dab off any excess water with a fresh cloth before applying plant based aftershave gel to close the cuticle.

Bona fide baldies can wear fashionable clothing and accessories that might have seemed a bit mutton dressed as lamb before ditching the half a head of hair. In fact, baldies look fabulous in bright pastel shirts and crisp long sleeve business shirts. However, they should avoid prints or heavy patterns in multiple colors. Purchase form-fitted shirts and well cut jeans and pants made from the best quality fabric you can afford. Try on clothes that fit your largest parts first and commit to having the items professionally altered for a tailor made finish.

In summary, your look should convey how you want others to think of you. Jim's comb-over and drab wardrobe portrayed him as an insecure crusty old fuddy-duddy! Consequently he could only attract more of the same. With a bit of thought, some well spent money and the courage to ask for more, Jim's energy is able to influence others to see the confident, robust, adventurous man he is destined to become. Using Olive Oil For Shaving With an Electric Razor

The use of mens electric shavers in itself is already an environment friendly choice, since unlike disposable razors that you discard after each use, the electric razor can be used over and over and can last a lifetime.

Yet, you can go a mile further with your mens electric shavers and with taking care of the environment. Almost everything now is about going green, or using natural organic materials, that is why even the most personal tasks (including shaving) are now siding with Mother Nature. Using olive oil as a lubricating substance, instead of using commercial shaving foams or creams, is now what many people do not just because olive oil has healthy properties but also because it tends to be less expensive than using commercial shaving lubricants.

In this article you will learn how to shave using olive oil. Here are the steps to have a better result when using olive oil for shaving with an electric razor.

Choose your oil. Not all oil of olives is the same. Certain types of olive oils is meant for cooking. Others are meant for ingredients in certain solutions. Make sure you are using virgin olive oil only, particularly the extra virgin type, since other types have undergone chemical processing and would no longer be 100% organic.

Lubricate your skin with the oil. Pour some oil into a container, dip your fingers into the oil, then rub your oily fingers gently onto your skin. This is done to lubricate your skin and prevent yourself from nicking or cutting yourself while shaving. Since olive oil moisturizes your skin, there is no need to put aftershave after shaving.

Start shaving. Apply a liberal amount of oil on skin areas you will be shaving. The oil will make those areas have a slicker surface. Then use your electric razor to shave the desired areas.

If you think your skin is too dry, then put on more oil after shaving; that is, use it as an aftershave. It is ill advice to use commercial products and lotions because they usually have parabens as an ingredient. This chemical has been identified as a potential carcinogen or cancer-causing substance.

Begin and end with olive oil. Once you are done, immerse the blade of your razor in oil. It is better to use olive oil than water if you clean it. Without the film of oil protecting the blade, the unpreserved finish will cause the razor to rust and tarnish more quickly, which means the blade will go blunt faster. You can even use olive oil to clean and maintain your electric shaver. Simply soak the razor blade in oil, then wipe off the hairs with a clean cloth or a piece of bathroom tissue.

Through these tips, you will surely have an all-natural, Mother-Nature-friendly shaving routine with your mens electric shavers. You can even share these tips with your friends and family members. Who knows, even the simplest acts may result in even bigger help for the environment.

No Pain, No Shaving, No Razors - Why Hair Removal Using an Epilator is Best for You

Hair removal with an epilator is getting better all the time. Many women complain of the pain that is associated with the various epilators on the market today. But, they must not have tried using one in awhile.

Several companies today are creating systems for hair removal with an epilator that has pain reducers, items that will ensure less pain when having the hair pulled from the root. Most of these new epilators can even be used on sensitive skin, all any parts of your body, and even are designed to be hypo-allergenic.

The idea behind hair removal with an epilator is that it differs from razors in that an epilator uses a rotary head that has rows of tweezer type discs that will actually pull the hair out from the root. This will give you sometimes up to 6 full weeks of being hair free.

Hair removal with an epilator is great for your legs and arms and the unwanted hair will be gone for a longer period of time than if you used a regular shaver. It can even remove small, finer hairs that the shaver sometimes misses.

You will find that technology has changed so hair removal with an epilator is fast, efficient, and will leave your skin smooth and silky for much longer periods of time.

The most popular hair removal systems include Braun, Philips, Remington, Emjoi, Panasonic, and Epilady. Each one of these have the newest technology to provide you with the best hair removal with an epilator available on the market today. You can find one that is compact, battery operated, designed to fit the contours and curves of your body, or created just for those sensitive skin areas such as your underarms or bikini line.

You can compare all the various epilators online to find the one that you prefer to use. You will see that hair removal with an epilator has come a long since mother's time.

Shaving With an Electric Machine

Controversy regarding the electric shaving machine over the traditional razor is a raging one. Even in the fast age of today, shaving is one of the few rare fields where men continue to prefer the tried and tested methods over the new innovations of technology. Although much of this goes to a traditionally handed down ritualistic practice, ignorance about how a shaving machine works is also a reason. Usually, it is believed that a traditional razor is better for daily shave, but an electric shaving machine is good for the occasional grooming purpose. The choice is yours, but it is always good to make an informed choice.

To start with, an electric shaver does not require you to apply shaving cream or foam. A moist beard is enough for the blades to work. Typically, a shaving machine has a rotating blade that is covered by a safety gadget. It runs on electricity, usually a DC device, and there are battery back-ups. So you don't have to stop your shave mid-way in case of power-cuts. Holding the machine close to your face, it cuts close to the facial hair, thus giving you a close shave. Each shaving machine comes with a set of variable blades, so you can use it for a close shave or to give yourself designer stubble.

An electric razor is a safe device. There are no chances of cuts, since the safety device stops the blade to come in direct contact with your skin at any time. Even if you do not want to use it daily, it is convenient at times when you are in hurry or at times when you need a close trim. The best option is to use razors and electric shavers alternatively, because it is generally believed that continuous and daily use of the electric shaving machine gives you a very hard hair.

How to Make Homemade Shaving Cream

A homemade shaving cream is simple to make, and it also nourishes and moisturizes your skin at the same time. In addition to that, it works well with men's electric shavers, too, as well as your conventional disposable razors.

Turning to natural alternatives hits two birds with one stone. This is because it helps reduce the consumption of chemically infused products. Also, by using homemade products, you are able to save money that you usually spend in buying those commercial ones.

In order to make your very own homemade shaving cream you must take note of the ingredients to be used and the procedures to be done. The recipe for homemade shaving cream consists of the following: four tablespoons of an essential fatty acid-rich oil such as sweet almond, jojoba, and apricot; two tablespoons of a natural skin moisturizer and nourisher such as shea butter, cocoa butter, or beeswax; two cups of distilled or filtered water, so that it is pure in every way; one spoon of baking soda, to soften and protect the skin; four tablespoons of castile soap which is vegetable oil-based; half a cup of either aloe vera gel or honey; and essential oils. The last two ingredients are just optional so it is up to you whether you would add them or not.

In making your shaving cream, you should first heat the oil and skin nourisher in your double boiler. Then, stir both ingredients together until you get a clear mixture. Once done, pour the mixture into a large bowl and leave it to cool.

Using a pan, heat some water. Then, follow by adding the baking soda and castile soap. Stir these until the solids become diluted completely. When already diluted, you can now then add the aloe vera gel or honey, whichever you choose to use, into the solution and just continue stirring.

Afterwards, pour the second mixture into the bowl containing the first mixture. If you have chosen to use essential oils, then you can add it to the new mixture. As soon as you are through, blend everything with the use of a hand mixer or a blender. The mixture should be blended very well.

Then, transfer the cream into an airtight container. You may use old jelly or pickle jars for this. Just make sure that the jars are cleaned very well and have no residue or odors. Then, presto, you have your very own homemade shaving cream ready for use.

It is indeed a nice thing to be able to make things at home. This way, you would no longer need to worry about the chemicals that are used in products. With this homemade shaving cream, those who have really sensitive skin will get benefits from it. It is so easy to make, hassle free, natural in every sense of the word, and is perfectly compatible for use with mens electric shavers.

Three Hazards to Avoid When Shaving

When you shave your facial hair, you have to try doing it safely because you can encounter three potential hazards while shaving. By using men's electric shavers, you can actually eliminate almost 100% of the likelihood of ever encountering these hazards, although they do happen from time to time. The three potential hazards that you need to avoid when shaving are cuts, razor burns, and razor bumps. By exercising caution and by shaving carefully, you can avoid these hazards.

Cuts are caused by sharp razor blades. When using traditional razors, you can accidentally cut your skin by sliding or moving the shave parallel to the blade instead of perpendicular to it. You can also accidentally cut yourself if you run your razor over a skin bump (for example, a mole or a pimple). The sharp blade can easily cut away the protruding part of the skin bump. If you accidentally cut yourself while shaving, you can perform immediate first aid to stop the bleeding. For example, pour a little alcohol on a cotton ball and press the cotton ball on the cut. Apply gentle pressure for a few minutes to stop the bleeding. Another way is to cover the cut with a small piece of clean toilet paper or tissue. Some people stop the bleed by rubbing a small amount of petroleum jelly on the affected area.

The second hazard commonly encountered in shaving is the so-called razor burn. It is simply a burning sensation on the skin brought about by irritation from the use of either or both a blunt razor blade or improper shaving technique. Razor burns usually appear as prickly or itchy rashes on the skin about a couple of days after you shave. Though, they also disappear on their own without any intervention. To avoid razor burns, always use a sharp or fresh blade, use a lubricating cream or lather while shaving, avoid pressing the blade too deeply into the skin, and only slide your razor in the direction of the hair (not against it).

The last type of hazard is pseudofolliculitis barbae, commonly known as razor bumps or ingrown hair. Such bumps form when growing hair curls into the skin as it grows. Normally and ideally, hair should grow straight from out of the hair follicle. If it curls back into the skin, the condition can cause an inflammation. You can avoid pseudofolliculitis by not shaving too close to the skin. In most cases, you can remove ingrown hairs by using tweezers to pluck out the hairs. For more severe conditions, you need to seek the help of a dermatologist.

It is important that you shave carefully when using traditional shaves and razors. Or, to minimize your risk of cuts, razor burns, or pseudofolliculitis, you can choose to use men's electric shavers for your facial hair care routine.
