Ladies Electric Razors - Speed Up Shaving

Electric razors for women have become very popular over recent years. In fact, the technology has grown so that the use of a disposable razor really doesn't make sense anymore. You can purchase a woman's electric razor that can be used wet or dry, so the need for manual razors has gone out the window.

Women have long detested having to shave on a daily basis. Because women have so many other grooming necessities, such as styling their hair, shaving is just another thing on their to do list each morning. The invention of electric shavers has cut down on the time and aggravation of having to shave. There are many different models a woman can choose from depending on her needs and wants in an electric shaver. For instance, some shavers have pivot action which allows for a closer and smoother shave. The blades available on some women's razors are now much sharper which allows for extra close shaving.

Some shavers are fully immersible so that they can be cleaned easily and used in the shower or bathtub. Many versions are also hypoallergenic for people with sensitive skin. There are some women's shavers that are similar to the men's shaver with three spinning shaving heads. Others are made using a safety screen to keep the woman from being cut by the razor. There are electric razors for women which also have an epilator built in which removes the hair from the root. This technology has also improved in recent years so that the pain one used to feel from that process is no longer a problem. In fact, these kinds of razors often allow a woman the ability to go without shaving again for a couple of weeks.

If a woman is thinking about buying an electric razor for women then she needs to do her research online and look at the different models available. This way she can decide whether she wants a dry, wet or combination shaver with or without the epilator. There are many different price ranges and companies that make these kinds of shavers so it pays to do a little research and read customer reviews to see what other buyers thought.

A Short History on Shavers Or Razors

Women and men have shaved their hair for thousands of years. Scientists believe that the first shavers or razors were made in 30,000 B.C and were made from flint and that shaving was part of some kind of ritual, body modification and body art. For many primitive tribes, it was considered a form of status symbol and wealth. In 3000BC, there were advancements in metallurgy in countries like Egypt, India and Greece. Because of these advancements, they were able to make permanent and reusable razors. The straight edged razor was not invented until the late 1700's by Benjamin Huntsman. It is a razor that can fold into its own handle like a jack knife but without the spring. This kind of shaver is still used today in most barber shops around the world because it is said that it can give the closest shave compared to other razors. However, very few people use it for personal use because of safety reasons. In the 1800's, the first safety razor was invented. It was a stick shaver that had a blade that can be fitted into a razor guard.

In 1895, King Camp Gillette an idea flashed through his mind about a razor that is safe, inexpensive and had a disposable blade. With the help of William Nickerson, he was able to realize his invention in 1904 and started selling them as the Gillette Safety Razor. During the First World War, Gillette struck a deal with the government to equip soldiers with razors and blades which totaled 3.5 million razors and 32 million blades.

Col. Jacob Schick invented and patented the first electric razor in 1928 and was further developed by a bigger company. Prof. Alexander Horowitz, another important inventor from Philips Laboratories based in the Netherlands, invented the revolving electric razor. The razor that he invented had a shaving head of cutters that cut off hair at the skin level. This new type of razor did not caught until it was feature in a movie in the late 30's.

During the 1950's many companies started selling cheap wholly disposable razors. In the 1970's, razors with disposable cartridges came out. They have twin blades that can cut closer to the skin. Then the three-bladed cartridges came out and just recently, the four bladed cartridges.

In the early years of the electric shaver, it had to be plugged into an electric outlet and can only be used as a dry shaver. Today, most electric shavers are cordless because they have built in rechargeable batteries. Some can be used with shaving creams and even some can be used while taking a shower.

What Are the Best Electric Razors For Men?

That's not an easy question to answer because it depends on many factors. What is the perfect electric razor for one person may be totally unsuitable for someone else and this could be due to differing skin types, having soft or hard whiskers or desiring a different closeness of shave.

However, there are two very important factors that need to be considered - features and price. Modern electric shavers have a wide variety of features, some of which may or may not be deemed necessary to everyone, depending on your expectations. Of-course, the more advanced features usually add to the cost of the razor.

Which are the best men's electric razors?

There are numerous different brands of electric razors including Panasonic, Braun, Sunbeam, Remington and Philips to name a few. After some research into the wide range of men's electric shavers available, I have found three that really stand out above the rest. They are:

* Philips Norelco Arcitec 1090;

* Braun Series 7-790cc Pulsonic Shaver and

* Panasonic ES8249K Arc IV Nano Vortex.

Let's look at some of the features of these three electric razors.

1. Philips Norelco Arcitec 1090 Men's Shaving System

If you like high tech design, then this Norelco electric razor is for you. It is one of the coolest looking shavers on the market. It is a rotary head shaver that has the ability to conform to the contours of your face to give you a very close shave. It also comes with a 60 day money back guarantee for peace of mind.

2. Braun Series 7- 790cc Pulsonic Shaver

These braun electric razors are also high tech but in a different way. It produces several thousand "micro vibrations" per minute which help to lift the hairs for easy cutting. The Braun also uses very advanced blade technology which minimises any tugging and pulling of the whiskers and also gives a very close shave. A really cool feature is that with the press of a button the shaver will automatically clean and lubricate itself.

3. Panasonic ES8249K Arc IV Nano Vortex

Unlike the other two, this Panasonic electric shaver can be used as a wet or dry shaver. You should consider this shaver if you shave in the shower, for instance. The Panasonic has a very powerful motor and with its extremely sharp blades that are set at the smallest angle of any razor available today so not only do you get a very close shave but it makes light work out of shaving a thick beard.

Naturally, these features are going to reflect in the prices of these electric razors but if price is not an issue and you want the features then any of these would be more than suitable.

Best Value Men's Electric Razor

But if price is an issue, let's find a shaver that has a low price but gives excellent value for the dollars spent. To ascertain this I went through many electric shaver reviews and found the shaver that had more positive customer reviews than any other. The one that stood out was one manufactured by Braun. It is their PocketGo P-70 Men's Electric Shaver with a current retail price of around $30.00. Strictly speaking this shaver is aimed at the traveller and may not be suitable for everyday shaving. It is powered by a couple of AA batteries so it can be used anywhere including your office and even the car. Although it doesn't have the bells and whistles of the more expensive shavers, it is extremely portable and does give quite a close shave.

Like anything, it's most important that you decide which features you need in a shaver and then look for the best value men's electric shaver that will fit that need.

Electric Razors - Worth the Investment?

If you've ever wondered why someone would pay such a large amount of money for an electric shaver over the disposable razors, then we have the simple answer that may surprise you. Typically a pack of disposable razors cost between $3 and $7, and contain roughly 10 razors all of which last between one and three shaves under normal conditions. In addition, a lubricant is often required whether that's a shaving gel or foam. A single container of lubricant often costs roughly $5 last for approximately thirty days under normal use for men with average facial hair amounts.

While these two dollar amounts may not seem like much at first, they can add up very quickly over the time of just one year. If your much like the typical man and must shave once a day to maintain your appearance, then you will need roughly fifteen disposable blades a month, more if you have above average hair growth or thickness. Over the course of a year that is roughly 180 shaving blades or 12 packs at an average cost of $60 yearly. In addition, you will require roughly 12 containers of shaving lubricant, at an average yearly cost of $60. The annual cost ads up to a substantial $120 plus tax for using the "Cheap" disposable razors.

When compared to an electric razor, at typical price of $40 to $50 and one replacement shaving head after 6 months at a cost of approximately $30, you get $70 to $80 in annual shaving costs, being cheaper the year to follow as the replacement blades are cheaper than the initial cost of the shaver. When compared to the cost of roughly $120 a year for disposable blades and lubricant, the $80 for using a quality Braun Electric Razor is simply mind blowing, and only 2/3 of the total annual cost.

Is Aftershave Needed When Using Electric Razors?

Generally, men use aftershave lotions or creams after shaving their facial hair. Aftershave contains moisturizers that smoothen and soften your face. But, when using mens electric shavers, do you really need to apply aftershave?

Mens electric shavers have been manufactured and sold around the world for quite some time. Both men and women have even moved on from traditional razor blades to electric shavers in removing unwanted facial hair. One of the most important benefits you can get from using an electric razor when shaving is that you get a clean shave without the necessity of using aftershave.

Electric razors are one of the most convenient shaving tools. Though, for those who are always busy or in a hurry, some people do not have the luxury of time to use electric razors, much less the traditional razors which require more shaving time than is comfortable for a busy bee.

By using an electric shave, you don't really have any need for shaving creams or foams on your face. As a matter of fact, the only thing you need is electricity---plus your electric razor, of course. Applying or lathering your face with an aftershave is an option when you are using an electric razor.

However, using aftershave or pre-shave can benefit you as well. Pre-shave lotions or pre-shave creams can harden your facial hair and make them stand, providing ease when you remove them through electric razors. Consequently, you need to choose a pre-shave that is suited well for electric razors.

Aftershave, on the other hand, can help in closing and tightening your pores after shaving. Also, it helps moisturize your skin. However, if you have a sensitive skin, you ought to avoid using aftershave or other alcohol-based aftershaves. As an alternative, you can use a relaxing aftershave balm---or make one of your own from organic and all-natural ingredients.

In addition, using aftershave can damage your skin specifically if it is sensitive and it has cuts and wounds. Aftershaves are used primarily for desensitizing your skin after shaving. It is much recommended that you wash your face. Also, if your face has small cuts or wounds, you should not use aftershave. It might penetrate into your inner skin, causing irritation.

Applying aftershave on your face after using mens electric shavers is really just your choice. If you want to make your face look softer then you can use aftershave, but really, it's not a requirement.

Electric Shavers - A Better Alternative to Razors

The conventional razors have become the shaving tool of choice for most men over the years. It has proven its worth, but it is time for the better change in response to man's shaving needs. It is time to make way for a better alternative, which is the electric shaver. We all know that razors leave that sting after shave feeling as well as failing to give the closest shave every man desires. You also need to replace your blade as often as it should be just to achieve that desired result.

With electric shavers, shaving has become more exciting and more effective in the process. Most of these electric powered shavers offer a design that is specifically engineered and scientifically made to follow the contours of the face, so you will never miss a hair unlike using the conventional manual razor. Aside from that, with the convenience of electricity, shaving has become effortless. Another advantage is its high performance and long lasting blades, replacing them would not be as frequent as to using razors.

Other high-end electric shavers offer features such as pulsonic technology from one of the popular makers of electric shavers-Braun, which enables the razor to generate vibrations to help in lifting the hairs on the skin to achieve the closest results. Most of these shavers also come with rechargeable batteries, making it portable and more convenient. With regards to price, in the long run, getting the electric shaver is obviously much cheaper. Also, it is much more eco-friendly than those disposable shavers.
